Found this on http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/ynews_ts988 regarding Palin.

      Summary below:

For the second time in just over a week, Fox News is coming under fire for misusing old news footage. The latest flap is leading some people to charge that the cable news network is intentionally misleading its audience, while Fox claims a "production error."

Wednesday's incident occurred when Fox News host Gregg Jarrett mentioned that a Sarah Palin appearance and book signing in Grand Rapids, Michigan had a massive turnout. As footage rolled of a smiling and waving Palin amidst a throng of fans, Jarrett noted that the former Republican vice-presidential candidate is "continuing to draw huge crowds while she's promoting her brand-new book,'' adding that the images being shown were "some of the pictures just coming in to us.... The lines earlier had formed this morning."

However, the video used in the segment was from a 2008 McCain/Palin campaign rally. In response to the minor uproar that arose after clips of Jarrett's report hit the Internet, Fox senior vice-president of news Michael Clemente issued an initial statement saying, "This was a production error in which the copy editor changed a script and didn't alert the control room to update the video."

On Thursday afternoon, Fox News issued an on-air apology delivered by host Jane Skinner:

Yesterday we told you about Sarah Palin kicking off her book tour and then we spoke to Sean Hannity about an interview that he did with former Governor Palin. When introducing the segment we showed you footage of people lining up in Michigan for a book signing that evening. In the tease before the segment, the tease to commercial, we told you how those people were already lining up to meet Palin. The problem is we didn't show you the video we were actually referencing. Instead we mistakenly aired what's called "file tape" of Sarah Palin. We didn't mean to mislead anybody in that tease. It was a mistake, and for that we apologize.

The current mishap comes on the heels of a controversy sparked last week when footage from a conservative rally held over the summer was played on "Hannity" during a segment on a more recent rally. During the clip, host Sean Hannity marveled over the large turnout for a Washington, DC protest. The Daily Show later pointed out that there seemed to be some inconsistencies with the video shown on Hannity's show, namely that the atmospheric conditions seemed to vary from shot to shot. Hannity later apologized on the air for what he called "an inadvertent mistake."

Barely a week into Palin’s blitz to promote “Going Rogue,” media coverage is becoming its own story. Fox News rival MSNBC caught heat last week for using altered images of Sarah Palin on the air, for which they later apologized. On Wednesday, Yahoo! News reported Newsweek’s defense of their latest controversial cover, which Palin herself blasted as “sexist.”

  • CAIR and North American Muslim

    • From: JohnKJR
    • Description:

(Repost: due to being lost in the shuffle several days ago by Fox4)

It was once stated on this Blog site by NemoKC that after the terror attack at Fort Hood that American Muslims and thier spokespeople and organizations denounced the act. THIS is what I would like to say on this matter and in general about what I see as a lack of courage and conviction of American Muslims to denounce the violence of thier own.

The recent Islamist terror attack against American warriors preparing for combat deployment from Fort Hood, Texas, serves as a harsh reminder that the threat of terror from home-grown radical Muslims remains a very real danger to our country. Major Hasan, the alleged terrorist murderer, appears to have been long under suspicion for his anti-American, pro-radical Islamist statements.

Following the shooting, many leading mainstream American press outlets blamed Major Hasan's attack on "loneliness"; of being angry over his treatment as the result of his Muslim faith, or his reluctance to support the war on terror by deployment to a war zone.

What was, as usual, overlooked by the sycophantic press was the stark reality that slapped all Americans in the face at Fort Hood: Major Hasan committed his terrorist act and did so with the full blessing of his version of "Allah"; the very same "Allah" that motivates Islamist terrorists like those in Hamas and al Qaeda in their demented desire to impose "paradise on Earth" by terror murdering all who disagree with their "religion of peace". Even Hasan's radical Islamist Imam, who formerly preached at a Falls Church, Virginia mosque called Hasan a "hero" for his attack. What version of Islam does Imam Anwar al-Aulaq represent?

CAIR said it was a "big surprise" this Imam held radical beliefs. Yet CAIR has no problem inviting speakers to CAIR events who advocate attacking U.S. troops, like American cleric Zaid Shakir who said:

"Islam doesn't permit us to hijack airplanes filled with civilian people," ...

"If you hijack an airplane filled with the 82nd Airborne, that's something else."

Beliefs of religious leaders like Shakir and al-Aulaq appear to be given a pass, and therein lies a major problem: the mainstream press in our country seems unreasonably fixated on the idea that many Muslims are so mentally unstable, so irrational, and so unable to stand up for themselves that excuses must be made for the behavior of radical, militant Muslims; no matter how heinous or despicable that behavior may be. Yes, these radical Muslims - whose minds are perverted with a violent form of political, militant Islam - are so misunderstood that we must excuse them even when they come to murder us.

When will this madness stop? How many innocents must be terror murdered before America’s righteous indignation motivates the people to demand our leaders either lead or get out of the way when it comes to dealing with Islamist terror; protected, nurtured and encouraged by Muslim Brotherhood front groups like CAIR? What is this irrational fear that motivates our so-called leaders to cower at the very mention of the word "Muslim"? Why must we continually apologize to radical Islam for our very existence? What is this wicked power Islamists exert over our institutions that causes many of us to fall all over ourselves in our rush to lie prostrate at the feet of radical Islamist groups like CAIR, and ask for forgiveness?

The real reason radical Islam enjoys the special protections of the press and some of our government agencies? Fear of reprisal.

When it comes to the mainstream press, the days of the fearless investigative reporter, backed up by a fire-breathing editor, supported by a news organization worthy of the name are long gone; replaced by "reporters" and "editors" literally afraid of their own shadows. The North American press, once the envy of the world, is mired in a form of political correctness that undermines the security of our country; refusing to recognize its own appeasement while criticizing those who do the right thing in defending our country. This is cowardice in its worse form; self-imposed. How sick is this?

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has repeatedly said that Americans cannot blame all of Islam for the actions of a few.

      Fair enough.

However, we can, and do, directly blame CAIR for fostering an atmosphere that lends support and encouragement to Islamic terrorists like Hamas...and Major Hasan. Possibly sensing further exposure of CAIR's dangerous radical ideology that includes claims that America's war on terror is "war on Islam", CAIR appears frantic in making a like-minded Major Hasan out to be anything other than a radicalized Muslim.

A panting Ibrahim Hooper said: "Why can't the killer at Fort Hood just be a crazy guy?"

CAIR condemns the Fort Hood massacre; yet CAIR’s own senior officials are on record making statements encouraging or excusing Islamic terror, such as:

"Fighting for freedom, fighting for Islam, that is not suicide…they kill themselves for Islam."

Which is true, CAIR condemns Islamic terrorism, or approves it?

CAIR, the self-described "Islamic civil rights group" threatened to sue Anti-CAIR several years ago over the statements accusing CAIR of supporting Islamic terrorists, Islamic terrorist groups, and Islamic terrorist supporting countries. When Anti-CAIR refused to back down, CAIR sued. The result of CAIR’s attempt to silence Anti-CAIR? CAIR refused to answer discovery questions and ultimately ran away from its own lawsuit.

How is it that CAIR, the great "defender of Islam" in America, could not even stand up to two guys and a laptop?

What destroyed CAIR’s case? The truth.

Yet, the mainstream press and some politicians in this country continue to run and kowtow to CAIR every time a tragedy like Fort Hood happens; willingly lending credibility to a group that has none among the majority of Americans who know better than to believe the propaganda filth perpetrated by CAIR’s Islamist terrorism supporting lapdogs.

To add insult to the Fort Hood massacre, CAIR is begging for donations for "defending Islam" in the mainstream press; i,e, conning the rubes into believing that the massacre had nothing to do with Islam. CAIR, an organization that supports terror in the name of Islam, steps over the still-warm bodies of American warriors to make a buck to support their propaganda efforts to destroy our country and support those who will kill us if we give them half a chance to do so.

Remember that this is the same CAIR that raised cash for the Holy Land Foundation following 9-11 under a misleading donation link that seemed to suggest money was being raised for the American heroes of 9-11. Imagine their surprise when the duped donors learned their hard-earned cash was being used to fund the very strain of Islamist terror that brought down the Twin Towers.

CAIR, the "defender" of Islamic rights in North America, is surely supported by Muslims in North America, right?

      Maybe.

As Frank Gaffney reports, CAIR is actually shrinking, and has been doing so for many years. According to Gaffney (President of the Center for Security Policy), CAIR’s membership stood at 1,700 in 2006. Consider that this represents less than .001% of Muslims in North America and it is plain to see that the majority of Muslims in North America do not regard CAIR as their spokesman or as "Defender of Muslim rights".

What do North American Muslims know about CAIR that the New York Times and the rest of the mainstream media do not? Why doesn’t the mainstream media try and find out?

Gaffney goes on to point out that not only are CAIR’s membership numbers down, but that support from old friends is down as well. While CAIR reports that its "banquets" are sold out, the fact is that most of them lose money and old reliable's, such as ambassadors from predominantly Muslim countries, no longer bother to show up to CAIR events. How curious that everyone seems to be abandoning CAIR, yet it continues to raise money. Who is donating this money and why?

Gaffney, to be fair, does point out that CAIR does have at least one "respectable" supporter:

"The one bit of good news for CAIR at the 2009 event well, in addition to their announcement that their fundraiser was "sold out" came from Libya. Not only did the ambassador himself attend the October 24, 2009 event, but "The People’s Bureau of the Great Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya" also took out a full-page ad in the printed program. CAIR can take comfort knowing that at least Muammar al-Gaddafi cares for CAIR."

The terrorist murderer of Lockerbie supports CAIR! Who knew? … and CAIR repudiates Islamist terror?

CAIR says that it is wrong to blame all Muslims for the actions of a few; this is true. However, it is equally wrong for North American Muslims to remain largely silent, except for a handful, to the terrorist supporting actions of CAIR. We need to see a Muslim-led protest at the headquarters of CAIR.

We need to encourage and see our fellow American Muslims by the score stand up for themselves and against radical variations of Islam, embraced by the likes of CAIR, that are - as described by one American Muslim - "truly a threat" to this country.

  • RON PAUL vs BARNEY FRANK

    • From: JDog
    • Description:

For those of you who have not been following this, Ron Paul has introduced legislation to mandate an "audit" of the Federal Reserve Bank. In typical Congressional fashion, despite Congressman Paul's bill having over 300 sponsors, it will not be voted on. Nope, instead, a bill put forth by Barney Frank to "BAN" audits of the Federal Reserve will be voted on. So, I guess we could say in a backwards sense, a defeat of the Frank bill will lead to an affirmation of the Paul bill.

Remember, this evolved from late 2008 when Bernake & Paulson committed the entire balance sheet of the Fed to stabilize the markets. Congress blinked and sneered as it became evident that a "fourth" entity had control of taxpayers’ money and could act without Congressional approval. Um, there are no such provisions in the Constitution for this!

So the real question about these two identical yet competing bills is, What's worse, Congress involved in monetary policy decisions or a fourth, unelected branch of Government usurping powers granted only to Congress?

If I were Frank or Bernake, I'd be throwing all of my political weight to prevent any audit of the Fed... the devil will be in the details

There are 535 members of Congress, and Paul has 300 sponsors. Guess who my money is on

  • PROFITING ON PARANOIA REVISTED

    • From: nemokc
    • Description:

Just a quick update on a post I did a few weeks ago entitled PROFITING ON PARANOIA.   It was a discussion on people who deliberately inflame people on the Right for profit.   One of the many examples that I used was a program promoted on World Net Daily.   It offered to send each member of Congress a “pink slip” with your name & address on it to symbolize the “pink slip” you would give them in the next election if they raised taxes, vote for Health Care Reform, etc.

And yesterday was THE day!   I am happy to report that the WND event did in fact deliver to all 535 members of Congress “pink slips”.    A total of 5 million slips were delivered by box divided up between each member’s office.

Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) was overjoyed at the 5,000,000 slips!  She said, “We can't say that we didn't know where the hearts of the American people are.”

Sounds REALLY impressive….until you do the math!    Five million slips divided by 535 members of Congress equals approximately 9,346 hearts of the American people.   And in a country of 308 million….that’s about 0.00003% of the population.

Still for a “grass roots” protest, 9,000 people isn’t a really bad number, it’s just not as impressive as FIVE MILLION sounds.

But you want to know a number that does sound really good?   Try $279,912.70!   That’s the amount of money that those 9,346 people paid World Net Daily at $29.95 each to print & deliver the “pink slips”.  Over a quarter of a million dollars to make a bulk delivery of 10,000 reams of pink paper to Capital Hill.

Somebody laughed all the way to the bank!

  • Five Terrible Cruelties of Lib

    • From: JohnKJR
    • Description:

      By John Hawkins

My latest Townhall column is called, Five Terrible Cruelties of Liberalism. Here's an excerpt from the column:

"You will find that I am kind. Unlike the cruel Leonidas, who demanded that you stand...I require only that you kneel." -- King Xerxes, 300
Liberalism is an extraordinarily deceptive, ruinous and cruel ideology. That's because liberalism comes, arms wide open, whispering sweet words of compassion and pity, even as it forcefully slams down a boot upon the neck of people it's "helping." It's bad enough to see people's lives ruined by those who make no pretense about their intentions, but to see human beings destroyed by those who claim to have only their best interests at heart...well, let's just say it's a hell of a thing.

What liberalism does to minorities: Liberalism falsely convinces minorities in America that they are widely hated and despised for their skin color. How terrible it must be to spend your days seeing racial slights that don't exist, feeling despised by people who don't give you a second thought, and expecting that you will be treated unfairly by people, most of whom think no more of your skin color than they do the color of the carpet they're standing on.

Believing these lies leads to a sense of victimhood that liberalism offers to "fix" with more destructive solutions like Affirmative Action. How many white Americans have doubted the achievement of a black American because of Affirmative Action? How many black Americans have doubted their own worthiness because they thought they may have been given a helping hand because of their race? How many black college students who would have graduated with honors at UNC-Chapel Hill flunked out of Harvard because Affirmative Action got them into a college that was over their head? In the wildest dreams of the Ku Klux Klan, they could have never come up with an ideology as deviously destructive to minorities in America as liberalism.

you can read it all here and I suggest you do.

  • Racism Imposed From the Bench

    • From: JohnKJR
    • Description:

So much for people being judged by the content of their character. Our president was chosen primarily for his skin color; U.S. District Judge Ivan L.R. Lemelle in Louisiana has ruled that the same should hold true for school board members:

A federal judge ordered the Tangipahoa Parish School Board this week to hire qualified black applicants for administrative positions until 40 percent of these positions are held by black educators, court records show.

Blacks make up only 29% of Tangipahoa Parish's population.

Lemelle has imposed his racial preferences from the bench before:

Last year, Lemelle ordered the School Board to hire a black coach who had been passed over for a job opening at Amite High School.

Say a candidate for an administrative job in the schools of Lemelle's fiefdom has no qualifications whatsoever other than the one that matters, black skin. The superintendent can refuse to recommend him, but…

If the superintendent does not recommend a black applicant for a position, he must submit written reasons to a committee made up of the chief desegregation plan implementation officer, director of personnel and minority recruitment officer.

This committee then may interview the rejected applicant and decide whether to recommend that person to the School Board anyway.

The objective of course is "diversity" — that is, naked anti-Caucasian racism.

  • Conservatives and Revisionist

    • From: nemokc
    • Description:

The idea that Republicans were the party that brought about the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is being thrown around on the web.  At first, I thought this was too silly to spend much time on.   But it seems to be a growing tall tale of conservative goodness! Many websites seem to have taken this as a theme of discussion.   In reality it is nothing more than history told with a bias.  (Which happens frequently, I might add.)  The continuing advancement of this particular bit of revisionism needs to be addressed before the myth becomes a psuedo-reality.

Recently on this site, jstol regurgitated these conservative talking points by stating:

"The Liberal wing of the Democrat party is the party of segregation. To deny this is to deny history.

The Democrat Party was responsible for supporting slavery. It took a Republican, Abraham Linclon, to end slavery.

The Democrat Party Party, in the form of the Southern Democrats (Dixiecrats), was responsible for prolonging segregation. It took action on the part of Republicans in Congress to push the legislation through in 1964 to end segregation and promote civil rights."

Now members of a Black Republican group are putting out bill boards proclaiming that Martin Luther King was a Republican.

In fairness, part of this is true.  Some 150 years ago, the Democrats were in part responsible for supporting slavery...although the main issue was not slavery per se, but the issue of state's rights versus the powers of the Federal government. (Back then it was the Democrats who were TEA PARTY members.)  But jstol is correct that it took Abraham Lincoln to end slavery and it is correct that Lincoln was a Republican.  It is also true that "Dixiecrats" were responsible for prolonging the fight for desegregation in the 60's.  Fifty-four days were spent in filibuster with Sen. Byrd (D-WVA) speaking for a record-breaking 14 hours and 13 minutes to keep the Civil Rights Act from being passed.   But that's only part of the story.   The reality is that this was not a Democrat vs Republican fight....it was a North vs South fight with a bi-partisan effort made by both sides of the struggle.  And at that time in our history, most Southerners voted Democratic BECAUSE the Republicans WERE the party of Lincoln.

Here are the facts:   On June 11, 1963, President John F. Kennedy asked for legislation from Congress "giving all Americans the right to be served in facilities which are open to the public—hotels, restaurants, theaters, retail stores, and similar establishments," as well as "greater protection for the right to vote."   Eight days later he sent a proposed bill to Congress to be voted upon.   It was considered by Civil Rights advocates as a step in the right direction but overall too weak in enforcement to be completely effective.

Southern legislators from both sides of the aisle then began to do everything possible to either slow passage of the bill or to kill it outright.  During the time that the bill was stuck in various committees, President Kennedy was assassinated.  At which point, Lyndon Johnson used both his extensive background in legislative politics and the presidential "bully pulpit" to rally support for the bill.   At this time, Democrats held majorities in both houses of Congress.  So it is true that you can say that Democrats tried to kill  The Civil Rights Act.   Because a lot of Southern Democrats who were chairmen of specific committees did try to do so.    But to do so, you must ignore Lyndon Johnson's efforts, nor can you then claim that it was Republicans who were responsible for this piece of legislation.   The final votes on the bill tell the true tale.

The original House bill passed by a vote of 290 to 130.  Of those votes, Democrats voted 152 to 96 in support of passage and Republicans voted 138 to 34 in support.  The Senate version passed by a vote of 73 to 27.  Of which, Democrats voted 46 to 21 to support the bill and Republicans voted 27 to 6 in support.

Now where these numbers get interesting is when you look at the vote from the standpoint of Northern legislators versus the votes of Southern legislators (combining both parties.)   In the House, Southern Democrats voted 7 to 87 against the Bill and Southern Republicans voted 0-10 against it.  (In other words, NOT A SINGLE SOUTHERN REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMAN SUPPORTED THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT.) SOUTHERN CONGRESSMEN VOTED 7 TO 97 AGAINST THE BILL.   Northern Democrats voted 145 to 9 in support of the bill while Northern Republicans voted 138 to 24 in support.  NORTHERN CONGRESSMEN VOTED 283 TO 33 IN SUPPORT OF THE BILL.

While in the Senate, Southern Democrats voted 1 to 20 AGAINST the bill, while the lone Southern Republican also voted against the bill.   Northern Democratic Senators voted 45 to 1 in favor of the bill while Northern Republicans were a little less enthusiastic in support of Civil Rights, they voted 27 to 5 in favor of the bill.  FINAL TOTALS:  SOUTHERN SENATORS VOTED 1 TO 21 AGAINST THE BILL AND NORTHERN SENATORS VOTED 72 TO 6 IN SUPPORT.

So when you examine the numbers, it becomes clear that while Democrats were obviously divided by region on this vote, so were Republicans.   And it is a lie of history to try to claim that Democrats were the "Party of Segregation".

And as to Martin Luther King being a Republican.   That's true.   Martin Luther King SR. was a registered Republican but his son, Martin Luther King JR, never claimed ANY party affiliation.  And if you grew up in the early 80's during the debate for establishment of a Martin Luther King Holiday, you know that Republicans then were not only NOT claiming MLK as one of their own....they were objecting to the establishment of the holiday altogether.  Why?  Because Republicans said at that time that Martin Luther King, Jr WAS A COMMUNIST!  (And now he's one of them!)

And that's why it's so important to read history rather than just listen to regurgitated talking points!

  • LOSERS OF THE WEEK: 11-15-09

    • From: nemokc
    • Description:

Another week goes by and another collection of special people who contribute in a negative manner to the political discourse that fills our lives.  With special attention this week to those that make their negative comments in the name of God.

So let’s start with the Rev. Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church who spent the early part of this week protesting in Washington D.C.   They held anti-Obama signs, anti-gay signs & anti-abortion signs as they marched outside….SIDWELL FRIENDS SCHOOL, which is attended by the Obama children.  The church website posted the following explanation for the site of the protest:  Quakers?! Are you frigging kidding me? You pretend to be all non-violent, and you allow the most bloody, deceitful, evil, murderous bastard and his shemale sidekick to place their satanic spawn within your four walls?"   Note to the Westboro Baptists, the verse in the Bible where Jesus says, “Suffer the little children” didn’t mean to make the children suffer by calling them “satanic spawn”!   You people are real LOSERS!

Ex-Congressman William Jefferson (D-LA), who brought whole new meaning to the phrase “cold hard cash” was sentenced to 13 years in prison for corruption and is now a 13 year loser (with time off for good behavior)!

Senator David Vitter (R-LA) wins a nod as a loser due to comments by one of the challengers for his Senate seat.   I'm not one to judge someone's sexual activity, but what annoys me is that he's so hard-core "family values," and he puts his wife and kids out there, saying he's a Christian family man. Then he's caught up in a prostitution scandal. He's a hypocrite”, said Stormy Daniels.   The porn-star-turned-candidate then went on to point out that if elected, she would be able to avoid sex scandals because all of her sex tapes can be found on the shelves at video stores.  You know you’re a loser when a porn star can claim the moral high ground.

The Catholic Church also made my personal list of LOSERS this week.    Not because of the church’s influence in getting the Stupak amendment passed; I might not like the legislation but if you support the Right to Life movement, it’s your right to petition your representatives in Congress.   However, if you are going to take a stand for the rights of the unborn, you should also be willing to support children AFTER birth as well.   For instance, take the case of Nathan Halbach, a 22 year old man who is dying of brain cancer.  His mother also has terminal cancer.   Nathan’s estranged father is Father Henry Willenborg, a Franciscan priest.  When the Church was asked to help pay for medical treatment…they refused!  Father Henry was never a “Dad” to Nathan, the least he could do for his son is to petition the Order to help make his son’s death a little easier.  But he didn’t.    And the Church also weighed in on gay marriage this week in D.C. by promising to stop all charitable work in the city if the D.C. city council passed a gay marriage ordinance.   I don’t remember Jesus making everyone take a morality “litmus test” before feeding them bread & fish.  I’m sure Jesus would be proud!   So for these two actions…I’ve got the Catholic Church on the LOSERS LIST!

Congressman Barney Franks (D-MA) gets a nomination for his comments to a local Fox News reporter.  When asked if he was present at the home of his lover in 1997 during a pot bust, he said he was but that he didn’t know the plants were there and since, "I not a great outdoorsman…I would not recognize most plants."  Now that may be true, but to put it in those terms leaves you open to a lot of silly news commentary.   Like Wolf Blitzer and Lou Dobbs who apparently can identify pot plants by smell and sight!  (Who also get a nomination for LOSER because people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.)  Congressman, there were a lot of better ways to have phrased your comments than you did!  But at least you improved on Bill Clinton’s “I didn’t inhale” line.

Tweeter-extraordinaire, Sarah Palin also gets mention this week.   Not for all of the factual inaccuracies found by the AP in your new book, not for your Oprah interview, not even for letting your book tour get upstaged by your daughter’s baby daddy’s “hockey stick”.   You get named LOSER because of your crazy assertion that moving the words “In God We Trust” from the front of the coin to the rim of the coin is part of the great Obama conspiracy!   The truth is that this change was made by the Bush administration and you are a LOSER when your conspiracy theories are so far out there that even FOX NEWS fact checks you.

Democratic strategist Ted Devine proved to be a loser this week when he responded to threats from various Democratic groups to halt donations to the party in favor of supporting specific candidates.   Many people do not want their money to help support Democrats who vote against Health Care Reform.   Mr. Devine stated that, “I think it is a very powerful point of influence when you go to people who rely on donations to fund very expensive campaigns and tell them the people they count on won't be there to support them because of their position on a single issue”.   Mr. Devine, only a LOSER forgets whose money it is to begin with that supports those “expensive campaigns”.  We'll spend it where we want.   And if quality reform DOESN’T pass….we’ll need that money for our increasing premiums!

And finally, Tea Party organizers in Danville, VA get listed as LOSERS for their announced plans to burn in effigy, Speaker of the House Pelosi and local representative, Congressman Tom Perriello (D-VA) for their support of health care reform.    You can protest all you want…but you cross the line when you start burning people (even in effigy).   I know you feel you personally don’t have representation in Congress but the fact remains that more people from your district voted for Perriello than any other candidate.   So he IS your representation even if you don’t agree with him.   The neat thing about Democracy is that the majority rules!   I remember being called unpatriotic and treasonous for having a bumper sticker that read, “Somewhere in Texas there’s a village without it’s idiot”….that bumper sticker seems to pale in comparison to you LOSERS playing with fire.

State Rep. Rich Zipperer (R-Pewaukee) called Wednesday for an oversight hearing into irregularities found in the reporting of jobs created by the federal stimulus package, but Democrats said such a measure is unnecessary.

Of course they dont think it necessary. There's no accountability in government, so why would there be counting?

Ladies and gentlemen, it has finally happened. I agree with a Republican sponsored bill.

The bill I am speaking of would create term limits for members of the House and Senate, thereby removing career politicians from office (in theory). The goal is to remove the corruption from government.

As Jim DeMint, a Republican supporter of the constitutional amendment, states: "As long as members have the chance to spend their lives in Washington, their interests will always skew toward spending taxpayer dollars to buyoff special interests, covering over corruption in the bureaucracy, fundraising, relationship building among lobbyists, and trading favors for pork -- in short, amassing their own power."

Here is the kicker... Unlike so many politicians who preach one thing then do another, two of the co-sponsors of the bill - Tom Coburn, R-Oklahoma, and Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kansas - have NOT served more than two terms (Coburn is on his first and Brownback has pledged to withdraw after his second). Another co-sponsor, Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, in typical Washington fashion, is serving her third term. Furthermore, this bill is bipartisan and surpasses economics. Democrats, Republicans, Capitalists and Communists can all support it without feeling any guilt to their cause.

  • Missouri Scores Low in Happine

    • From: ladyjean
    • Description:

Results of a recent survey, called the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index, were just reported by LiveScience.  Questions asked covered such areas as overall evaluation of one's life, physical health, emotional health, behaviors such as smoking and exercise, and job satisfaction.  The results were then grouped by state and compared.  Missouri ranked close to the bottom, at position #44.

Why?  I would have expected Missouri to rank somewhere close to Kansas and Iowa, neighboring states which ranked #22 and #27, respectively.  All three states are in the Midwest and share a number of similar characteristics.  All are considered a part of the Bible Belt, and I would expect a fair degree of happiness on that factor alone from good groundings in religious faith and values.  None of the states has been among the worst hit by job losses and mortgage value meltdowns.  All three states have several large metropolitan areas as well as significant agricultural areas.  And Missouri is a swing state politically - with a fairly even distribution of left and right, that wouldn't seem to be a factor either.

Again, why?  I don't have any answers, or even any reasonable theory on this one.  This isn't a life-or-death poll, and unimportant in the great scheme of things.  But I find it puzzling.

I'm happy myself, so who or what is dragging down our ranking?  Any thoughts?

  • My favorite Marine

    • From: Searchingtoo
    • Description:

I would like to take a minute to thank a friend of mine of 33 years. His name is Gary. He was a Marine during the Vietnam war and had quite a hard time while  serving our country.

While in Vietnam, he was shot 3 different times. If that wasnt enough, one of the most painful things that he experienced while in Vietnam was when he was crawling under a bridge one day. he was bitten by a rat.

He of course had to undergo rabies shots for 14 days. He was allergic, so everywhere he got a shot, huge purple welts would come up and were quite painful. But is was better than dying.

The physician had to travel to his company everyday and give him the shot. This went on for 2 weeks. On the final day, the physician was shot on the way to give him his final dose.

It was a few days before he could get medical treatment and had to start the round all over again. Yes, another 14 days of shots.

After Vietnam, he came home, got married, had 2 boys and raised them.Taught them how to hunt, fish and enjoy life.

I have always had a lot of respect for everything he went through and was still able to maintain. He is one of my funniest friends and I always get a great big smile when I see him.

So HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE MARINES.. AND THANKS GARY!

Allahpundit : Report: Hasan attended same radical mosque as 9/11 hijackers; Update: “He was a typical fundamentalist Muslim”

There’s no question now that we need congressional hearings into how the army missed the warning signs on Hasan, especially given the suspicions as to why they might have looked the other way.

Mark Steyn : Degrees of Separation

Hasan, the sole suspect in the massacre of 13 fellow US soldiers in Texas, attended the controversial Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Great Falls, Virginia, in 2001 at the same time as two of the September 11 terrorists...
      ...
The preacher at the time was Anwar al-Awlaki, an American-born Yemeni scholar who was banned from addressing a meeting in London by video link in August because he is accused of supporting attacks on British troops and backing terrorist organisations.

Hasan's eyes "lit up" when he mentioned his deep respect for al-Awlaki's teachings, according to a fellow Muslim officer at the Fort Hood base in Texas...
      ...
Danquah assumed the military’s chain of command knew about Hasan’s doubts, which had been known for more than a year to classmates in a graduate military medical program. Sweetness & Light : Imam: Nidal Hasan Did the Right Thing

      ...
Mr. Awlaki now lives in Yemen. So it’s good to see he nevertheless keeps apprised of the doings of his flock.

Imagine the satisfaction Mr. Hasan will have when he reads this.

Verum Serum : Radical 9/11 Cleric Linked to Fort Hood Shooter: Nidal Hasan is a Hero

I have a hard time even imagining the level of depravity and moral bankruptcy necessary to view the cold-blooded massacre of unarmed men and women as an act of heroism. It’s an act of cowardice, and Al-Awlaki is a sick and evil man. He is an enemy of this country.

Rich Lowry : Another One for the “Better Screwed than Rude” File

Fort Hood gunman had told US military colleagues that infidels should have their throats cut. -- The Telegraph
Also, the press has been full of PTSD stories this weekend. The media is basically inventing a new disorder to explain Hasan’s act—pre-traumatic stress disorder. Either that, or we’re supposed to believe PTSD is contagious and Hasan came to suffer from it by treating it.

Jules Crittenden : Combat Wounded, Combat Dead

[Major Hasan] probably deserves desertion, treason and terrorism charges if, as all indicators seem to very strongly suggest, he was engaged in jihad, from his violence-inciting, hateful rants about the Koran, his denunciation of the United States as “the aggressor” in arguments with fellow soldiers, to his shouts of “Allahu Akhbar,” to what they believe were his Internet defenses of suicide bombings, to his choice of targets, the Soldier Readiness Center at Fort Hood. If al-Qaeda is an amorphous enemy, an idea made situationally manifest by the will of its adherents, and he was in fact an adherent of its violent agenda, then he is the enemy, his actions were acts of war, and they bled and died under enemy fire.

Is any of the above very likely to be offically recognized? No.

      Seraphic Spouse

Incredible, especially when you consider that the only Muslims killed in the USA on 9/11 and in Britain on 7/7 were killed by Muslims.

Muslims may have as much to fear from radical Muslims as any other American, Briton or Canadian. It's not like the Toronto 15 had come up with a plan to make sure none of Toronto's thousands of Muslims were around when they triggered their bombs.

I'm rather sick of the MSM interrupting our grieving to tell us that, to add Muslims' insults to a Muslim's murderous injury, they suspect us of wanting to attack their mosques now, even though we didn't the last ten times a Muslim killed innocent people in the name of Islam. What are they scared of? Grafitti?

Althouse : The Fort Hood massacre was rhetorical flourish as Obama urged House Democrats to vote for health care

His idea was: Soldiers make sacrifices for the good of the country, so congressional Democrats should put their concerns about the next election aside for the good of the country.
      ...
I'm trying to imagine the political environment that Washington Democrats occupy. A President glibly lays out that analogy, and it is received — without any wincing or taint of disgust — as awesome inspiration.

Obama Doesn't "Get" the Military He Commands

Life is full of mysteries, but chief among them in this Marine wife's mind at the moment is, "Just how stupid does this White House think we are?" If the events of the past few months have shown us anything, it's that Barack Obama has little enthusiasm for - or interest in - one of the most important duties of an American President: his role as Commander in Chief of the nation's armed forces.
      ...
...where was our Commander in Chief when his top commander in Afghanistan was being viciously attacked? Did he step in and defend his subordinate for doing the job he was ordered to do? Of course he didn't.
      ...
The McChrystal leak was followed by the revelation that our stalwart Commander in Chief had only met with his top commander in Afghanistan once. Stung by the implication that his "war of necessity" was very much on the back burner, Obama scrambled to find a mere 20 minutes to spare as he idled on a runway in northern Europe. He spent more time than that conducting a beer summit.

Now the Army's largest base has suffered a devastating attack by a deranged Islamist. And how does our Commander in Chief respond? He gives a "shout out" to Joe Medicine Crow, that noted Congressional Medal of Honor winner.
      ...
...in a moment of national tragedy is it really too much to expect the President of the United States to forego the "shout outs"? Is it too much ask that he learn the difference between the Medal of Freedom and the Congressional Medal of Honor?

Noah Pollak : Could “Secondary Trauma” Have Driven Him to Shooting?

So asks an absurd Time magazine story positing that Major Nidal Malik Hasan murdered a dozen people while apparently shouting “Allahu Akbar” because in his line of work — psychiatry — “there was no shortage of horrific tales that could have set loose the demons in Hasan’s mind.”

This shouldn’t be surprising coming from Tim McGirk. He went to Afghanistan after 9/11, had Thanksgiving with the Taliban, and wrote a long piece for National Geographic about what a great time he had and how we’re all just human beings doing our thing on this big blue marble, so let’s not judge. Then he went to Iraq and singlehandedly created the Haditha Massacre hoax. Then he went to Jerusalem and spent a few years slandering Israel. Now he’s trafficking in pop psychology on behalf of a likely domestic jihadist. It’s been quite a career.

Clarice Feldman : Tim McGirk who concocted the Haditha massacre is back

Seems like just yesterday Tim McGirk was making up lies about the "Haditha massacre" .

Well, he's baaaaack! Now as Time's Bureau Chief in Jerusalem he suggests that Major Hasan might have been afflicted with "secondary trauma."
      ...
Let me say, having read numerous accounts of Hasan's behavior before the massacre at Fort Hood, I think it more than possible that secondary trauma is a nonsensical excuse latched onto by those who cannot bear to face the truth.

I think McGirk is afflicted with something himself.

Michelle Malkin : Nidal Hasan’s calling card explained

“SOA” stands for Soldiers of Allah. “SWT” is a related Muslim acronym... These letters stand for the Arabic words "Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala," or "Glory to Him, the Exalted."
      ...
The suspected Fort Hood terrorist's former mosque in Maryland is controlled by the radical Muslim Brotherhood, a Saudi-funded worldwide jihadist movement which controls many of the mosques in America.

Kathy Shaidle : sums up the Soros-funded response to Fort Hood

Media Matters Attacks ‘Right Wingers’ for ‘Attacking American Muslims’ after Muslim Attacks Americans.

Michelle Malkin : The Beltway snipers and the Fort Hood killer: Peas in a jihad-inspired pod; Update: Hasan is awake, talking

John Allen Muhammad is scheduled to be executed tomorrow for the Beltway-area sniper spree that left 10 innocent people dead in 2002.
      ...
I covered two main aspects of the story that were underplayed by the MSM–Lee Malvo’s illegal alien catch-and-release story and Nation of Islam convert Muhammad and Malvo’s Muslim hate-mongering. Snide MSM’ers and the CAIR propagandists attacked those of who called these thugs what they are: terrorists.

The parallels with the Fort Hood case — jihad-inspired killers, media whitewash — are striking. They’re the parallels you can’t talk about without being labeled a bigot, racist, or “extremist.”
      ...
Intelligence officials were aware of Fort Hood killer’s attempts to contact al Qaeda.
      ...
Where’s blind, deaf, and dumb DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano’s “situational awareness” now?

My Pet Jawa : WTF? Feds Dropped Inquiry Into Hasan's Contact With Jihadis Because He Didn't Seem Violent

...tell that to the families who are mourning their loss of loved ones and to those who were wounded.

Ed Morrissey : Who will get jurisdiction to try Hasan?

...the Obama administration may not be terribly anxious to declare this a terrorist attack, either. With information leaking all over the place about red flags popping up and a lack of any action on them, declaring this a terrorist attack would focus a lot more attention on why the Obama administration failed to stop it.

      Bob Weir : Fatal Correctness

The brutal massacre of thirteen unarmed soldiers and the wounding of dozens more at Fort Hood, Texas is another terrorist act on American soil that could have been prevented if not for an insidious cloud of political correctness that has taken this country hostage.

The victims of this horrific tragedy died at the hands of an enemy masquerading as a friend. Those soldiers had every reason to believe they were safe on an army base, surrounded by their patriotic brothers and sisters. They volunteered to serve their country, knowing full well that they might lose their lives on a battlefield in a foreign land. Could any of them have imagined that the end would come at the hands of a Muslim extremist wearing the uniform of an Army Major?

Evidently, it wasn't enough of a red flag to read this lunatic's anti-American bitterness, which he proudly posted on the Internet with no fear or compunction about using his own name. This is a guy who regularly wore the fundamentalism uniform of the enemy he was supposedly training our troops to defeat. This is a guy who wrote in laudatory terms about suicide bombers as he condemned US policies in the Middle East. This is a guy who reportedly told his military classmates that he was a Muslim first and an American second. Hello? Is there anyone out there with common sense? If this is national security, we are in more trouble than we realize. How many more savage time bombs do we have walking and stalking among us?

The blood of this massacre had hardly stopped flowing before members of the media were cautioning us not to view all Muslims as terrorists. That should go without saying, but what should not go without saying is that we'd better get serious about the obvious danger of excusing Muslims who make it clear that they hate this country. Discriminating against people because of their race or religion is a description of bigotry, but keeping a close eye on people who give every indication that they're dangerous is more than sensible -- it's a vital cog in the survival instinct.
      ...
When we think of political correctness, we usually view it as confined to the Hollywood crowd and other assorted leftists. The fact that it has invaded the ranks of those who defend our freedom, here and around the world, is more than a bit alarming.

I just watched the Discovery Channel special on John Muhammed/Lee Boyd Malvo special, made in 2009, about their killing spree. In spite of all that is now known the Discovery Channel did not use the M word even once.

      Beltway sniper attacks

A series of trial exhibits indicated that Malvo and Muhammad were motivated by an affinity for Islamic Jihad.[27]
      * Exhibit 65-006: A self-portrait of Malvo in the cross hairs of a gun scope shouting, 'ALLAH AKBAR!' The word 'SALAAM' scrawled vertically. A lyric from Bob Marley's Natural Mystic 'Many more will have to suffer. Many more will have to die. Don't ask me why.'

      * Exhibit 65-016: A portrait of Saddam Hussein with the words 'INSHALLAH' and 'The Protector,' surrounded by rockets labeled 'chem' and 'nuk.'

      * Exhibit 65-043: Father and son portrait of Malvo and Muhammad. 'We will kill them all. Jihad.'

      * Exhibit 65-056: A self-portrait of Malvo as sniper, lying in wait, with his rifle. 'JIHAD' written in bold letters.

      * Exhibit 65-067: A suicide bomber labeled 'Hamas' walking into a McDonald's restaurant. Another drawing of the Twin Towers burning captioned: '85 percent chance Zionists did this.' More scrawls: 'ALLAH AKBAR,' 'JIHAD' and 'Islam will explode.'

      * Exhibit 65-103: A lion accompanies chapter and verse from the Koran ('Sura 2:190'): 'Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you and slay them wherever ye catch them.'

      * Exhibit 65-109: Portrait of Osama bin Laden, captioned 'Servant of Allah.'

      * Exhibit 65-117: The White House drawn in crosshairs, surrounded by missiles, with a warning: 'Sep. 11 we will ensure will look like a picnic to you' and 'you will bleed to death little by little.'

      * Exhibit 65-101: Malvo's thought for the day: 'Islam the only true guidance, the way of peace.'"
The third phase was to extort several million dollars from the United States government. This money would be used to finance a larger plan. The plan was to travel north into Canada. Along the way they would stop in YMCAs and orphanages recruiting other impressionable young boys with no parents or guidance. John Allen Muhammad thought he could act as their father figure as he did with Lee Boyd Malvo. Once he recruited a large number of young boys and made his way up to Canada, he would begin their training. Malvo described how John Allen Muhammad intended to train all these boys with weapons and stealth, as he had been taught. Finally, after their training was complete, John Allen Muhammad would send them out across the United States to carry out mass shootings in many different cities, just as he had done in Washington and Baltimore. These attacks would be coordinated, and were intended to send the country into chaos.

Sweetness & Light : AP: DC Sniper Execution Causes Fear

Isn’t it amazing the lack of coverage Mr. Muhammad’s well deserved execution is getting – even from the left?

Especially, given that this was worst terrorist attack on US soil until Mr. Hasan’s recent jihad.

But even with this natural tie-in, there has been very little coverage of Mr. Muhammad’s send-off, or any remembrances of his killing spree. Which is odd, given how much our watchdog media normally enjoy covering mass murderers.

And yet somehow talking about Muslim mass murderers always seems to be anathema to our watchdog media.

Note how even this article concentrates on the fears Mr. Muhammad’s execution is supposedly dredging up. Whereas we suspect most people would be relieved and gladdened at the news.

Van Helsing : Army Doubles Down on Political Correctness That Enabled Hasan

The governmedia has been twisting itself into pretzels in attempts to justify siding with Muslim terrorist Nidal Malik Hasan against the memories of the 13 Americans he murdered. "Compassion fatigue" doesn't even begin to pass the laugh test, but our liberal rulers have an alternate explanation for Hasan's killing spree: he was harassed for being a Muslim — the implication being that mass murder is an appropriate response to teasing for those who belong to a politically sacred special interest group.

But was this terrorist lowlife even teased?

Ralph Peters doubts it : Obama can't be bothered by Islamic terrorism

Let me kill the harassment myth right now: Political correctness rules in today's Army. We even protect our enemies these days. Had any soldier harassed Hasan because of his Islamist nuttiness, that soldier would've disappeared faster than a Franklin on a Times Square sidewalk.

Any snarky remarks directed toward Hasan — if there were any — would've come in reaction to his railing against our government, our military's mission and the monstrous injustice that, after grabbing an education in psychiatry worth hundreds of thousands of dollars from our military, he might have had to do his duty.

Far from being harassed himself, this creep was allowed to harass the soldiers he treated for stress disorders. According to colleagues, Hasan not only argued with his patients about our wars, but preached Islam to those under his care. (Just what troubled vets needed, no doubt.)

Prejudice? You bet. In this terrorist's favor. Nobody in Hasan's chain of command had the sense of duty to weed this pervert out. Why? Hasan would've accused them of discrimination. And the officer who brought charges against Hasan would've been the one whose career suffered.

Now, remind me again - WHO is riding on WHOSE coattails?  Blog posts INVITE comments - remember?

I'm very happy that ladyjean posted her blog "Passion or Obsession?" this evening. I am happy to see that she said that she is alarmed by the rift between the Right and the Left. I have to disagree that obsession is a bad thing though. If this country's founders had not been obsessed with the concept of freedom we would all still be British subjects.

Yes, the rift has grown and it continues to grow. I have made many, many attempts over this past year to correspond peacably via telephone, email and "snail" mail with my representatives in Congress. Their replies to me indicated that they wanted to tell me what their thoughts are (our thoughts did not coincide). They were not at all interested in my thoughts and they gave no weight to my arguments. In short, for them, the debate was over and I didn't count. I think that fits with ladyjean's definition of Obsession. Obsession on the one side breeds obsession on the other side. I agree with ladyjean that the current state of affairs is alarming (of course, if those on my side would just "shut up and get out of the way) everything would just be hunky-dorey but that ain't gonna happen. Every time someone tells me that I should get out of the way, every time someone tries to scare me off by calling me a racist or a hater they only stiffen my resolve but they don't intimidate me because I know that what they are saying is not true and only designed as an attempt to scare me off. The rift grows.

I wrote blogs about Barack Obama before he was elected. I wrote them because of his politics and not because of his mixed heritage or the color of his skin. Those things do NOT determine what direction a man will take this country in - his politics do. I saw Barack Obama as Jimmy Carter on steroids and I see him as a threat to this nation. You may disagree and, although you are entitled to your opinion, I believe you are very, very wrong. Many who stand by this President have an agenda which meshes with his - the dismantling of this country as we know it. I'm against that and I'm fully prepared to die for it but so was George Washington, Thomas Paine, Martin Luther King Jr. (he did die for it), Rosa Parks and many others.

I know of people who are ready to take up arms in defense of this country in defense of it's founding principles. I caution them that the time has not come. My influence is small. So far no one has done that. This nation is far closer than many might imagine to armed insurrection. So, yes, when you think of obsession remind yourself that it IS here. Remind yourself that obsession has ocurred here before. If you think that it cannot happen here today think again. I'm simply reading the tea leaves left behind. What I see doesn't look very good to me. Unless things change and people on ALL sides become more reasonable I believe that America is ready to erupt.

  • Passion or Obsession?

    • From: ladyjean
    • Description:

I find a great deal of the current political climate extremely disturbing, whether on a national or local level.  The right and left have increasingly become the far right and the far left.  And a fair number of them have gone from far right to fringe right, and from far left to fringe left.  When did individual interests or even passions for politics become so obsessive in nature?

An interest is defined as the feeling of a person whose attention, concern, or curiosity is particularly engaged by something.  A passion is a step up on the emotional scale - any powerful or compelling emotion or feeling.  An obsession is a compulsive preoccupation with a fixed idea or unwanted feeling or emotion, often accompanied by feelings of anxiety.

An interest in or a passion for a topic by more than one person, with differing viewpoints on that same topic, makes for good argument and debate.  The exchange will be livelier if both parties have a passion for their particular viewpoints as opposed to just interest in the subject.  This is healthy interaction in which both parties can air the reasoning behind their positions, and listen to the other side's stance.  You or the other person might learn something new.  You might make a persuasive point.  All parties are actively involved, and you respect even the opinions that you disagree with and those who utter them.

When obsession enters the picture, it's no longer debate because there is no active listening - just closed-mind ranting.  There is no more exchange of both sides of the picture - only data that supports the one position.  Because you don't care about anything or anyone who doesn't agree with you.  This is not only not debate, it's also not healthy.

The next time you write a post, or pen a comment, stop and read it aloud before hitting the send button.  Ask yourself what it says about you.  Does it show your interest in or passion for an idea or belief?  Or does it say obsession - loud and clear?

  • LOSERS OF THE WEEK: 11-08-09

    • From: nemokc
    • Description:

The week ending 11-08-09 was filled with political LOSERS!!!!    There were even more than I can list here; so, sorry if I missed your favorite loser this week.   And keep in mind that when I speak of LOSERS, I’m talking about those special people who contribute in as negative a way as possible to the country’s political discourse.

Our first LOSER is House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH), who after months of complaining about the cost of the Democrat’s Health Care Bill without ever presenting a Republican option, finally presented a Republican Plan 48 hours before the vote on the House Democrat’s bill.   Worst of all, he couldn’t tell reporters how much Republican plans would cost!   Note:  Mr. Congressman, your bill insures fewer people and according to the CBO costs more long term than the Democratic plan.  Maybe that’s why you didn’t know.

This LOSER is a real disappointment to me!    SESAME STREET showed them selves to be losers for a skit that featured Oscar the Grouch reporting news for GNN (Grouch News Network) and criticizing rival network POX News!   (In fairness, it was a VERY funny skit but it was a  VERY, VERY inappropriate one as well!   And while it’s also true that it’s from a year old re-run that’s never been mentioned before this hyper-political climate we now live in, it doesn’t change the fact that nobody should have to take a right or a left to get to Sesame Street!

Washington’s Tea Party this week gave us a lot of losers!

These include Pro-Health Care Reform protestors, for being the first people arrested on Thursday.

Also, the Tea Party attendees,  who came up with that horrible sign comparing Health Care Reform to the Holocaust by showing a pile of naked, dead Jewish victims of a Nazi Concentration Camp!    How do look at yourselves in the mirror?    Note:   Kudos this week to Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA) for condemning the use of such signs.

Reps. Steve King (R-IA), Trent Franks (R-AZ), Randy Forbes (R-VA), Jim Jordan (R-OH), Louie Gohmert  (R-TX) and Ted Poe (R-TX) all of whom are members of the House Judiciary Committee and ALL of whom missed votes on important Republican sponsored amendments to the Patriot Act.   Three of these amendments failed by less than two votes and all of these men were missing because they were at the Tea Party rally instead of in committee.   The sad part is that at least one of these amendments deserved to pass and instead of doing “the people’s work”, these clowns were “tea bagging” the people they are supposed to represent.

Finally, in the category of “people who live in glass houses”:   House Majority Leader Boehner gets another nod for sneering at liberals who don’t support the Constitution by reading the Constitution….except he started quoting from the Declaration of Independence instead!    Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) who threatened to scare liberals by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and forgetting the words!   And finally, MSNBC News Commentator Rachel Maddow who in her zeal to poke fun at Congressman Boehner for his mix-up tried to tell us that there was NO preamble to the Constitution!     Some of you people need to spend more time watching ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER!

The Center for Disease Control gets mentioned for sending H1N1 flu vaccine to Wall Street.   (Lots of children needing a vaccine there I’m sure!)

We also need to back up to last week, so we can name New Jersey gubernatorial nominee Chris Christie (R) a loser for stealing a clip from Monty Python’s Flying Circus without securing the rights and using it as a campaign commercial!   The members of the troupe are threatening law suit and Christie needs to remember that NOOOBODY ESCAPES THE SPANISH INQUESITION!

In the category of FAMILY VALUES LOSERS, we have 2nd runner-up, Nebraska Republican Party Chairman Mark Fahleson  who went trick-or-treating with a child dressed as Jon Benet Ramsey.  (That is so tacky)  But the real family values loser was Nevada Democratic Party Chairman of Douglas County, Paul Belt who pled guilty to assaulting his teenage son for getting kicked off the junior varsity soccer team!   You two are definitely NOT Father of the Year material!

And finally, JAG officer, Tom Keniff gets the LOSER label for his condescending question to a fellow guest on Larry King Live.   While discussing PTSD, he pointed out that HE had been to Iraq and wanted to know if the dissenting guest had ever been to Iraq.   She pointed out that she not only had been to Iraq but had been shot and was a POW.  She was Shoshanna Johnson, first US female POW.    Talk about putting your foot in your mouth, sir!
