WHERE DO THEY GET THESE RIDICULOUS STORIES???  It’s a question often asked between those on the left lately.    You know the stories I mean.  Obama was born in Kenya, he’s taking your guns away from you, he’s killing granny, he’s a socialist, etc.    They are stories that seem to have little if any basis in reality but feed the paranoia of those on the far right.   Generally liberals come to the conclusion that GOP leaders are soul-less losers who desire power so much they will say ANYTHING to get it back or that the people who believe these myths are “right-wing nut-jobs without a brain who also believe in alien abductions”.

And that may in some cases be part of the story.  But it’s not the whole story!   As P. T. Barnum allegedly once said, “there’s a sucker born every minute” and he spent a lifetime profiting off of those “suckers”, who were ready to believe anything he told them.   Such is the state of the far right today.  They have become the National Cash Cow for Scam Artists.  And it’s all perfectly legal.

You don’t believe me?  Take the issue of gun control.   An issue that the Obama administration has repeatedly called a dead issue and one that even Democrats have mixed emotions about pursuing. Yet enough people on the far right believe strongly enough that Obama is going to take away their guns that firearms manufacturer Remington has a $300 million backlog in orders this year.  Explain why Freedom Group Inc’s profits on weapon sales have quadrupled for the first half of ’09 over the same period last year?   Whose founder, Stephen Feinberg, is a major Republican donor with close ties to Haliburton and Dick Cheny and whose employees actively lobby through the NRA.  That is the same NRA that has become one of the worst disseminators of false information about Obama and his desire for gun control.  Fear sells guns and memberships!

A quick perusal through World Net Daily’s website offers even more extreme examples.   World Net Daily (WND), whose “informative” articles can teach you everything you want to know about “birtherism” or that consuming soy can make you “Gay” is a virtual on-line bazaar of doomsday paraphanelia!   WND ‘s SUPERSTORE offers it’s readers discount prices on a variety of books and DVD’s that promote the same fear-laden lies that are also promoted in it’s articles.   But keep in mind, when I say the price is discounted…you’re still paying $17-$19 per DVD.   Quite a bargain, don’t you think?

For ONLY $29.95 you can sign up to send every elected member of Congress a “pink slip”.   Not bad for a mass produced flyer on pink paper sent in bulk to Congress.  And while you’re signing up, don’t forget to order your “YOU LIE” bumper sticker and “HONK IF YOU PAY MY MORTGAGE” magnet.   Only $5.95 each, (shipping & sales tax extra).

But the best from WND has to be the ad that runs each day across the top of their home page.   Solutions From Science wants to save you from starvation when the world economy collapses!   By purchasing their SURVIVAL SEED BANK, you will receive 22 different types of heirloom seeds (enough to plant an entire acre), sealed in foil for preservation (can last up to 20 years…longer if kept in the freezer) and ready to plant immediately after the apocalypse.   They even come in a special “indestructible Survival Seed Bank” which can be buried to prevent “confiscation”!   (I’m sure that the “indestructible Bank” only LOOKS LIKE a PVC pipe with a cap on either end.) But it can all be yours at a special price of ONLY $164 because you ordered from the WND site.  (Seriously, they’re charging EVERYONE else $297…and that includes FEMA personnel and members of the military.)   Sound like a good deal?    Well, the exact same foil-sealed heirloom seeds can be ordered from ABCeeds for less than half of the “discounted” price.

Even Political Action Committees are getting in on the take.   The Republican Majority Campaign Action Committee (RMCPAC) run by Gary Kreep has generously offered to send a fax to EVERY member of Congress (yes, all 535 of them) demanding that they REJECT giving Barack Obama these dictatorial powers over the entire internet in America” for the super low price of $119!  Of course, you can go on-line and do the same thing for free at any number of political based web sites but how would Mr. Kreep make his mortgage payment then?

Glenn Beck warns about the collapse of the dollar and advocates buying gold for financial security.  I’m sure that being the spokesperson for Goldline International (a company that specializes in selling gold) or that one of his few remaining sponsors for TV is Rosalind Capital (which also coincidentally specializes in selling gold) has nothing to do with his dire warnings.

Remember “Joe the Plumber” who made a name for himself by questioning Obama’s tax proposals.   He’s back on the web asking you to vote on-line to eliminate the IRS and establish a flat tax.  You can call or text your vote and Joe promises that your vote WILL count.  But be warned, each “vote” will cost you $0.99.  (And the ad never really explains how an on-line vote actually eliminates the IRS which is what the ad suggests.)

Sadly, there is a common theme to all of these great “opportunities”.   They all rely on you being very scared or very angry!   So the groups that promote these sales all work hard at convincing you that you need to be afraid….very afraid!  Or very angry!   That’s their business.

Unfortunately in their quest to make a buck they forget that the issues they deal in can disrupt serious conversations about some very serious issues that currently face our country.   We become so argumentative over whether Health Care Reform will kill granny that we ignore whether there will be enough doctors to treat us in 10 years.    We are so concerned with “concentration camps” that we forget to talk about Afghanistan.   And that’s the tragedy of this farce!

As Rush Limbaugh once said, “The only way to make millions is for half the nation to hate you!”  And they laugh all the way to the bank.   So the next time you wonder where some crazy idea from the Right comes from, follow the money!

One last thing, before you get too smug about how the Right is so gullible....know anyone who bought a coin collection with pictures of Barack Obama painted on?

I'm talking about Lewis Diuguid of the Kansas City Star. His column yesterday was "RACE ALWAYS WILL AFFECT HOW PEOPLE VIEW OBAMA".

Stop and think about it for a moment. Due to America's demographics the majority of voters are White. It was White people who gave Obama the majority he needed to be elected. That would have to mean that a great number of Whites were impressed by him and were in favor of the policies he espoused during the campaign.

So, is Lewis now saying that the nation has become racist because many are criticizing Obama? I believe he is.

I also believe that Obama is being criticized by many Democrats because they didn't bargain for his extreme liberalism. I believe that his base is criticizing him because he seems to be faltering in his efforts to deliver what they believe he promised.

Conservatives were not for him from the beginning. That doesn't mean they are racists. It means they don't like or agree with what he stands for on many issues.

Right at this moment I, along with many others, don't care for his dithering while issues need to be addressed in Afghanistan. He dithers, Osama slithers and men die. Way to go Mr. President!

      Lewis, STOP YOUR HATE MONGERING!

Allahpundit : Video: The mother of all ObamaCare lies

Naked Emperor News is calling this “Obama’s Mother of All Political Lies,” but that’s overselling it. The true mother of all Obama lies is his pledge not to raise taxes on the middle class. In fact, this isn’t even the biggest lie he’s told about ObamaCare; that would be his promise to somehow make the program deficit-neutral. What this may be is the biggest lie he’s told about “changing the culture in Washington,” a key element of the Hopenchange mythos that’s rapidly disintegrated as he’s made waiver after waiver for the lobbyists he claimed would never work for his administration and ignored the five-day waiting period for public debate he swore would precede his signature on bills passed by Congress. Those sins were venial compared to the bargain he struck with pharmaceutical companies, though: In return for the feds agreeing not to try to negotiate lower drug prices once ObamaCare is in effect, pharma’s going to go all out to the tune of $150 million in advertising to get the bill passed and hand The One the political victory he’s desperate for. Won’t that mean much higher costs for the program than it might otherwise have had? Sure, but so what? The point here is getting Obama reelected, not designing the most efficient possible health-care program. And after all, it’s your money, not his. Even lefties like Robert Reich can’t believe it’s come to this.

      Doctor Zero : Legitimate criticism

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, along with Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, wrote an interesting op-ed column in USA Today, calling the increasing numbers of Americans who are asking tough questions about the Democrats’ health-care scheme “un-American.”
      ...
It’s the arrogant response of a political elite that sees itself as royalty, clad in the unimpeachable moral authority of democracy - a ruling class of philosopher-kings that only expects to be challenged once every couple of years, in carefully controlled local races they have a 90% chance of winning.
      ...
The most interesting thing about Pelosi and Hoyer’s brand of McCarthyism is how pathetically ineffective it is. To their great surprise, calling the protesters “un-American” isn’t shutting them up.
      ...
The Left’s challenge to the legitimacy of its opponents stands reality on its head. In truth, there is no greed as boundless and vicious as a politician’s lust for power… and unlike the energetic pursuit of the profit motive, the greed of a Nancy Pelosi produces nothing useful as a side effect. There is no class of people less qualified to run any industry than the political class, whose priorities never include the health of the industries they run into the ground. No one cares less about their “employees” and “customers” than a liberal politician. No one should be allowed to “buy” controlling interest in any industry with a stack of ballots, because the Constitutional restraints on government were not meant as minor inconveniences for the State to navigate around. Elections may have consequences, but the suspension of anyone’s right to property or free speech should never be among them.

Mark Hemingway : Democrats, Heal Thyselves

Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer this morning:
These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American. Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades.
Now here's a recent SEIU memo:
Action: Opponents of reform are organizing counter-demonstrators to speak at this and several congressional town halls on the issue to defend the status quo. It is critical that our members with real, personal stories about the need for access to quality, affordable care come out in strong numbers to drown out their voices.

Allahpundit : White House to Pelosi: Hey, maybe the protesters aren’t un-American

Obama now forced to clean up her mess — especially with some town halls of his own looming this week.
      ...
What sort of “spirited debate” and “vigorous conversation” did the demagogue-in-chief have in mind when he said last week that he doesn’t want people who “created the mess” to do a lot of talking anymore? Is that the debate where he tells us again that injecting the federal government deeper into health care will cut costs, or that we’ll be allowed to keep our current insurance and we pretend to ignore the economic reality for private insurers forced to compete with a bottomless government plan?
Allahpundit : Video: Democrat who yelled at constituent can’t stop whining about health-care question
He simply can’t get over how rude it was for some doctor to sit through a four-hour meeting about a highway, waiting patiently until all the other questioners had had their turn, and then politely ask a question about the hottest political issue in America. Oh, and he also kinda sorta hints it was racist too, since the meeting had to do with a highway serving a black community.
      ...
...as CNN decided to have the doctor call in so that Scott could finally answer his question. Minor problem: Like practically everyone else in Congress, Scott’s prone to talking about this subject in platitudes — and the doctor, mobster that he is, is very adamant that he doesn’t want to hear platitudes.
Gateway Pundit : MSNBC: Using Word "Socialist" Is Racist... Leftist Thugs Attacking Black Man, Calling Him N-Word & Stomping His Face-- Not Newsworthy
MSNBC anchor Carlos Watson reported today that using the word "socialist" was just like using the n-word...
      ...
Sadly, MSNBC forgot to report on how a black man in St. Louis was beaten by Leftist thugs, called n*gger and stomped on.

...If they really wanted to report on racism you'd think they might want to mention that story.

Andy McCarthy : Obama: Student Radical

During the campaign, I wrote a piece called "Why Won't Obama Talk About Columbia? — The years he won't discuss may explain the Ayers tie he keeps lying about." So now, nearly six months into the Obama presidency, the mainstream media has finally done a bit of the candidate background reporting it declined to do during the campaign — other than in Wasilla — and whaddya know? The New York Times unearthed a 1983 article called, "Breaking the War Mentality," that Columbia student Barack Obama wrote for a campus newspaper. The article shows that Obama dreaded American "militarism" and its "military-industrial interests," while effusing enthusiasm for the dangerously delusional nuclear-freeze movement.
      ...
Nice as it is of the media to scratch the surface journalists should have been mining over a year ago, the current disastrous straits for the country are that — as Jen Rubin contends at contentions — the Obama who is off to Russia to cut unratifiable deals with the recrudescent Soviets hasn't really changed in the ensuing quarter-century.

      We knew

"I'm the only major candidate who opposed this war from the beginning. And as president I will end it. Second, I will cut tens of billions of dollars in wasteful spending. I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems. I will not weaponize space. I will slow our development of future combat systems. And I will institute an independent "Defense Priorities Board" to ensure that the Quadrennial Defense Review is not used to justify unnecessary spending. Third, I will set a goal of a world without nuclear weapons. To seek that goal, I will not develop new nuclear weapons; I will seek a global ban on the production of fissile material; and I will negotiate with Russia to take our ICBMs off hair-trigger alert, and to achieve deep cuts in our nuclear arsenals." -- Barack Obama, 22 October 2007

      Sweetness & Light : Obama’s 1983 Nuclear Freeze Article

It really is worth the trouble to go to the original article (a pdf file) and read the full extent of Mr. Obama’s thinking at the time.

Especially in view of his current dangerously naive negotiations with the Russians.

Alas, his thinking does not seem to have advanced much at all in twenty-six years.
The article was lost for years — some of Mr. Obama’s campaign advisers said they had heard of its existence and went looking for it, presumably to see if it contained anything that might prove embarrassing… It came to light on the Internet just before the inauguration…
Obviously the Obama campaign advisers found it first.

And they suppressed it until Mr. Obama was safely elected.

Three cheers for our watchdog media!

Gateway Pundit : College Paper Shows Obama Was a Raving Anti-American Kook

The state-run media can do research. It only took them 8 months after the election to release this crazy Far Left anti-American article Barack Obama wrote while in college.
      ...
Today, the kook landed in Russia and is going to try to talk the Russians into disarming. It's more likely that he will sell out our allies in Poland and the Czech Republic instead.

It's all part of that hope and change we're getting used to.

Jennifer Rubin : Obama Has Gotten It Wrong for Twenty-Five Years

Those who suspect the president is engaged in a bit of dangerous self-delusion and denial about certain unpleasant realities regarding the threats from rogue states won’t be heartened to read that his current non-proliferation fetish stems, at least according to the New York Times, from his college infatuation with the nuclear freeze movement. Apparently, youthful Obama did not focus on the results from Ronald Reagan’s refusal to buy into the fantasies of liberals –namely the fall of the Soviet Empire. That lesson has entirely eluded now-president Obama. Is it any wonder his critics find his posture fraught with peril and entirely out-of-touch with the threats we face?
      ...
...what is naïve, of course, is to think that Iran and North Korea will be impressed by our disarmament efforts. No consideration is given, just as none was given by the nuclear freeze crowd a generation ago, to the possibility that disarmament will only embolden our adversaries and confuse our allies...
      ...
...apparently Obama’s worldview has not matured much since his Columbia days...
      ...
President Obama, like college student Obama, still fails to grasp the moral and political dimensions of the struggle we are involved in, still lacks any appreciation for the nature of totalitarian despots and of the motives compelling them to seek nuclear weapons. He is still fixated on the notion that weakness can resolve international threats.
      ...
“If the implications were not so serious, the discrepancy between Mr. Obama’s plans and real-world conditions would be hilarious,” said Frank J. Gaffney Jr., a Reagan-era Pentagon official who directs the Center for Security Policy, a private group in Washington. “There is only one country on earth that Team Obama can absolutely, positively denuclearize: Ours.”
      ...
...what excuse is there for Obama’s ludicrous worldview? Unlike student Obama, President Obama knows how the Cold War ended. And it wasn’t by disarming America.

Jonah Goldberg : Obama: Senate Shhmenate

With the clock running out on a new US-Russian arms treaty before the previous Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, or START, expires on December 5, a senior White House official said Sunday said that the difficulty of the task might mean temporarily bypassing the Senate’s constitutional role in ratifying treaties by enforcing certain aspects of a new deal on an executive levels and a “provisional basis” until the Senate ratifies the treaty.

Ace : Russia-US Arms Control Agreements Frameworks And Obama-Medvedev Press Conference

Obama's opening statement...he and Medvedev agreed that the US-Russia relationship suffered from 'drift' and it needed to be 'reset'. Fucker can not go 10 minutes with taking a swipe at Bush, can he?

Sweetness & Light : Obama, Putin Agree To Lower Nukes

Like totalitarian dictatorships everywhere (cf North Korea), the Soviet Union Russia will simply claim they have made the required reductions, when in fact they are likely increasing their numbers.
      ...
The dictator Mr. Putin views Russia’s national interest as being diametrically opposite to ours. And no amount of honeyed words will change that.

American tax-payers have paid most of the bills to clean up Russia's chemical and biological weapons programs. Programs that were kicked into high gear AFTER the Russians signed the treaty banning such weapons with Jimmy Carter in 1980. Because, of course, the Russians saw such a treaty as an opportunity to be exploited to their advantage.

David Pryce-Jones: What Counts When It Comes to Nuclear Weapons
Russia at present is in an aggressive mood, and Medvedev and his prime minister, Vladimir Putin, excel at playing hard cop, soft cop. They seek by various methods including the use of force and chicanery to reincorporate former Soviet republics like Ukraine, Georgia, and Estonia into its sphere of control. The supply of gas is treated as a tool to dominate supine European customers. Unlike the cold and brutal Putin, Medvedev says he believes in the rule of law, but his election was flagrantly rigged, critics and Muslim dissidents have a way of being murdered, and the unfortunate former oil billionaire Mikhail Khodorkovsky has already served eight years in prison on trumped-up charges and looks likely to have the sentence indefinitely extended. Obama babbles that he and Medvedev together can aspire “to strengthen democracy, human rights, and the rule of law.” Oh please!

We’re told that the Russians object to the missile shield against Iran that the United States would like to build in Poland and the Czech Republic on the grounds that it is aimed against Russia. This objection has no validity, and it is raised evidently for the Russians to be able to bargain about it and extract something they want. To give way on the missile shield is bad, but to leave the Russians in a position of supporting Iran is deadly.
Ed Morrissey : Why are we subsidizing Russian companies on energy?
Congress should take another look at the Ener1 earmark. If this is an example of what we can expect from cap-and-trade, then it’s just another reason to stop it cold.
Uncle Jimbo : President Obama- Eternal Grad Student
The simple truth is his thinking has not progressed beyond the beer and weed-fueled bull sessions of grad school. He is a naif who still believes in the fantasies he and his fellow lefties bandied about in coffee houses.
      ...
Go to Ms. Underestimated and watch him lie right out of his ass in describing the end of the Cold War. He says that it ended peacefully when the people of Russia and Eastern Europe decided it should. He specifically says "This was not the actions of one nation, but of many" implying that our enemies were as responsible as we were. Once again pissing on the legacy of freeing hundreds of millions from oppression America has earned with the blood and treasure we have sacrificed. Of course other nations were involved on our side, and the Soviet Union fell because Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, John Paul II, Lech Walesa and others ignored the useful idiocy that Barry and his friends preached about disarmament. Now he takes the same failed ideas to Russia and hands them our nukes on a platter, gaining nothing in return. Even worse he will likely toss our missile defenses, which fucking work, on the fire to appease the non-appeaseable.
      ...
He has shown that he prefers totalitarian dictators and populist socialists reforming their countries into shitholes to our friends and allies who have real democracies. It takes state control to fix a country of villages and Barry will soon lead the new wave of reform freeing the world from prosperity and ensuring all will enjoy the craptastic life his army of benighted bureaucrats will plan out for us.
James Lewis : Obama reads Pushkin
What guys like Putin get out of this unbelievable fakery is that we have another Jimmy Carter in the White House -- but with a much better fantasy life.
      ...
One of the biggest liberal delusions is that intellectuals make good presidents.
      ...
Woodrow Wilson was our most highly educated, highly intellectual president. Until the polyglot we now have in the White House. He had a real PhD, was president of Princeton and a Progressive. He was a great idealist. He was also a segregationist Democrat, but then what's a little racism between idealists?
      ...
      It's a lifelong pattern.
It's the Styrofoam Greek columns for the victory speech.

It's the People of the World! speech in Berlin, even before he got elected, with thousands of puzzled nude bathers trying to figure out whether to applaud or whistle.

It's "I'll stop the oceans rising!" Or for Moscow this week, the fragile permafrost is going to melt! Hell, the Russians would love to see some permafrost melting. They've got more permafrost than they want over there. In Siberia global warming sounds like paradise on earth. How do we speed it up? How come it's so slow?

It's the petty insult of giving an ipod to the Queen of England and a Walmart Special of DVD's to Gordon Brown.

It's the Epistle to the Muslims a few weeks ago, broadcast from the minarets of Al Azhar University in Cairo.

It's Gimme Five, Dude! to Hugo Chavez.

It's the Air Force One photo op over the Statue of Liberty, freaking out all the little people on the ground in Manhattan.

It's the ABC ObamaCare commercial in prime time -- free, compliments of the ghastly Untermenschen of our suck-up media.

It's ten trillions dollars down the gazoo on a phony stimulus package to pay off the Democrat machines.

It's Obama taking over General Motors and the banks.
--- Are you beginning to see a pattern yet?

      Don't worry.

If you don't see it ... you will, you will.

    • From: milesdavis
    • Description:

I cannot express enough my concenrs for this country, and where things are headed. I must admit, I hate to sound so doom and gloom.

I don't know if you ever read anything from "American Thinker," but the other day - they had an excellent post. They had a letter in there from a Dodge Dealer - and this really brings home the stark reality of what Obama is doing with business.

In this case, "that gun" is being held by Obama’s auto team as it struggles to keep as many UAW jobs at Chrysler as possible regardless of whether the businesses involved get hurt. Case in point; George C. Joseph, sole owner of Sunshine Dodge-Isuzu in Melbourne Florida, a business that had been in his family for 35 years, who received the bad news that Chrysler was yanking his dealership agreement as part of their restructuring under the forced bankruptcy of the company ordered by the Obama auto team.

Mr. Joseph says that his dealership was “financially strong” and was seen as having “great respect in the market place and community.” He added, “We have strong local presence and stability.”

This was not enough to save Mr. Joseph or any of the other 788 dealers who are being dropped by the automaker. Beyond that, the “terms” of the break with Chrysler would no doubt have made Al Capone proud:

"On Thursday, May 14, 2009 I was notified that my Dodge franchise, that we purchased, will be taken away from my family on June 9, 2009 without compensation and given to another dealer at no cost to them. My new vehicle inventory consists of 125 vehicles with a financed balance of 3 million dollars. This inventory becomes impossible to sell with no factory incentives beyond June 9, 2009. Without the Dodge franchise we can no longer sell a new Dodge as “new,” nor will we be able to do any warranty service work. Additionally, my Dodge parts inventory, (approximately $300,000.) is virtually worthless without the ability to perform warranty service. There is no offer from Chrysler to buy back the vehicles or parts inventory.

Our facility was recently totally renovated at Chrysler’s insistence, incurring a multi-million dollar debt in the form of a mortgage at Sun Trust Bank."

We know this is happening all over the country as this Chicago Trib article from May 17th explains:

"But inside the 789 Chrysler showrooms to be cast aside, fear is starting to set in as dealers try to figure out what to do with expensive inventories that weren’t selling well even before the Auburn Hills, Mich., automaker entered bankruptcy protection last month.

“They’ve told us that the inventory is our problem,” said Keith Hollern, one of the owners of a Dodge dealer in Windber, Pa. “Want to buy one? We’re having a fire sale.”

Dealers borrow money to buy their inventories, then repay the loans and make a profit when the vehicles are sold. But Chrysler sales were down 46 percent the first four months of the year, so many dealers have been paying interest for months. Even if the vehicles are sold at cost, dealers still lose thousands in interest payments.

Chrysler doesn’t have the money to buy back the vehicles, said company spokeswoman Kathy Graham, but it also doesn’t want to leave dealers in a bind or see the inventory flood the market at bargain prices.

So it has signed a deal with GMAC Financial Services, Chrysler’s new finance company, to float loans to dealers that Chrysler plans to keep can take on the 789 dealers’ unsold inventory. The deal, though, doesn’t include about 4,000 2008 models still on the lots."

Ok we are talking about around 44,000 cars that would need to be bought back. Are you trying to tell me that Obama can find the tens of billions of dollars to bail out his union buddies but can’t find one red cent to help the small businessman? Where is the logic that you must bail out the auto maker but allow the company that sells those cars to perish ignomiously?

Obama’s corporatism does not mean he is friendly to business but rather only to those businesses that can do him political good. Mr, Joseph asks the $64,000 question:

HOW IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CAN THIS HAPPEN?

THIS IS A PRIVATE BUSINESS NOT A GOVERNMENT ENTITY

This is beyond imagination! My business is being stolen from me through NO FAULT OF OUR OWN. We did NOTHING wrong.

This atrocity will most likely force my family into bankruptcy. This will also cause our 50+ employees to be unemployed. How will they provide for their families? This is a total economic disaster.

HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN IN A FREE MARKET ECONOMY IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?"

Well, the tea parties are a good start but obviously not enough. Obama is moving too fast, his reach will soon engulf bankrupt states like California and probably New York eventually. Only voters can stop him and the Democrats from turning this country into something that is unrecognizable to those of us who still believe that the Founders intended America to be different and not a pale imitation of some moribund European social demcracy.

We feel for Mr. Joseph. But Obama’s got the muscle to do pretty much anything he pleases. And that includes holding a gun to the head of Chrysler and making them an offer they can’t refuse.

The thing is, this is not all Obma. This is the entire government at its worst. While I blame the democrats in government, the repuiblican party is something that I am truly ashamed of right now. I have posted sevearl things already that disucss what needs to be done. I realize that some of my posts are harsh - and blunt. They sound angry, but anger is not the issue as much as concern is. I know that Rush and others spew out exactly what I have posted here, and in previous articles - and honestly, while I tend to agree with much of what those men say - they are doing it more for themsevles. I am simply expressing my opinion, thoughts and concenrs with others via the blogs. These words that I type right now are my own thoughts that I wnated to share.

      Thank you for listening.

  • Kansas City Art Thrives

    • From: artflea
    • Description:

ArtsTech--A Center for Youth Enterprise hosts the return of KC’s Art Flea Market in the Crossroads Art District from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays, May 2 to Dec. 19.  Located just blocks from the Power and Light District and Sprint Center at 1522 Holmes, the Art Flea is a unique venue for buying local art priced from $1 to $50.  The event website is www.artfleakc.com , email is info@artfleakc.com and phone is 816-461-0201.

“We are excited to be a part of the growing Crossroads Art District.  We are in debt to the many artists that worked really hard to create the original Crossroads Art stir.  We hope to contribute by bringing business to the area on Saturdays,” says KC Art Flea marketer and artist, Michele Bridges.  The organizers are nonprofits and are hosting the event to bring public awareness to their services and also support their dual mission of providing new venues and resources to local artists and greater public access to quality arts and cultural events. The event is free to enter and gives the public one on one access to a diverse collective of artists.

The project was test piloted last Nov. - Dec. The market served well over 1,000 customers and supported the efforts of 50 local artist vendors and 2 non-profit arts organizations. With a growing vendor list, the Art Flea is looking to hold 70 vendors each week.  Local creatives will bring in a rotating stock of incredible deals on week on Kansas City made art, jewelry, handbags and accessories, furniture, food, one of a kind clothing, soaps, lotions and candles all priced from $1 to $50.  The vendors rent the booths for $25 and keep 100 percent of their sales.  Visitors can park for free in ArtsTech’s lot.

  • FOR DOOMSHEEP

    • From: jstol3
    • Description:

Doomsheep has commented on several of my blogs and has even been sweet enough to call me a bonehead.

I have 2 rules about blogging:

      1. I don't call names - labels, yes, names no.

      2. I don't block any comments. I believe in allowing you to show your ignorance if you wish.

Doomsheep has made one particular observation on at least 2 occasions. Doomsheep has observed that I write about ILLEGAL aliens but haven't mentioned American companies who outsource jobs overseas. I agree with Doomsheep!

The American companies who outsource are despicable! They have a nice, safe company headquarters here in America. They are protected by our corporate laws. Their business interests are protected by our military. Most of their senior staff had the benefit of an excellent education here in the US, their kids go to school here and they benefit from the greatest economy in the world.

How do these companies and their management staff repay this country and its people? They send their jobs overseas where Americans can't benefit from the base they have provided for their company and its management! Despicable! How un-American!

While I'm on the subject of un-American actions on the part of American companies I'm going to add those companies which have their base here and repay the support of the Ameican system by hiring ILLEGAL aliens at bargain basement wages and throw Americans out of work. Despicable!

When you enter a business and see that the staff is mostly ILLEGAL aliens (its not hard to figure out if you are observant) please turn around and go patronize a business that hires American labor. Please don't help these businesses attract more ILLEGALS and please don't help them put more Americans out of work!

One final thought here. Doomsheep has commented on a number of blogs but has not written an original blog post as yet. I am inviting Doomsheep to write an original blog for the rest of us to comment on.
