I would like to respond to your post on a subject where I am considered an expert and have 33 years experience; International Finance. As a quick background, I have been trading currencies, commodities, equites and bonds internationally my entire business life, and facilitate companies moving funds internationally; long before the Patriot Act and ever since it.
You wrote: "How has the PATRIOT act effected me personally, well when you're an entrepeneur who lives in the United States and deals with other businesses who are in a foreign country, your problems were increased exponentially with that legislation, specifically in the transferring of funds. Despite my business being entirely private, it gives the government full reign to come in and see what's going on, and even impeding certain transactions so they can "make sure everything is up to par."
As a business, the Patriot Act requires your financial institution to broaden its reporting and record retention of cross-border transfers, not the business. OFAC has existed for decades and has always checked "where" and to "who" monies were being transferred. Customs has always checked import and export transactions, nothing new there.
So, when you say "exponentially", I'm curious just how you come to that conclusion. Perhaps you could direct me to the section of the Patriot Act that you are referring to. I would referr you to Title III, which when you read you will come to understand that businesses DO NOT transfer monies internationally, financial institutions do, on behalf of their clients.
madmatt6773, 4 months ago | FlagI work for a living too, I'm just not a member of the far right nazi's or far left commie's. HEIL LIMBAUGH! LOL
JohnKJR, 4 months ago | FlagI am not sure why you and other (couple) people feel I repeat Limbaugh or other radio talk show hosts because I don't. I do not get to listen to the radio when I work for a living during the day.
If possibly you would listen to one of those shows; then maybe you would know that the information and posts I post have NEVER come from any of them. If it helps you to emotionally place me in a certain type of box for you to wrap your mind around what I post; then so be it. You also have the option of not reading it.
I am flattered that you would write an entire post devoted to me for some silly reason but I think your time would be best served becomming informed instead of just opinionated.
However the phrase "Bush Derangement Syndrome" is not mine nor Limbaugh's that I am aware. I first heard of it 6 years ago to describe the people who were constantly deriding Bush with Chimpy cartoons. Though our current resident of The White House looks much more like a chimp than Bush ever did. Check out those ears.
madmatt6773, 4 months ago | FlagLLO9... I aggre with you on Maobama, he scared me way before he was elected. Just because far right extremists
worry me doesn't mean I support the far left wackos. If you want to see what I think of the "chosen one" go to http://www .clearlyde parted.com /2008-elec tions/obam a-wallpape r-computer -desktop-b ackground. html
A former member , 4 months ago | FlagI am not aware of any Obama followers who have killed unlike those who resonate with Rush. I have to question who has a more cult like following.

I read Johns posts frequently
. I agree with much of what he says and also disagree with some of it. madmatt -
That worries me much more with an Obama. Obama's followers are like a cult and it's all tied up in his personalit
y. Bush is out of office, Obama has chosen to adopt many of his policies (he was against them before he was for them)LOL. Unemployme nt is now at 9.5% and Obama said it wouldn't go above 8% if the stimulus passed. The economy, Guantanamo
Bay, Iraq, Afghanista n and ILLEGAL immigratio n are all his babies now. Many Americans would now have jobs if it were not for his policies on ILLEGAL immigratio n.
A former member , 4 months ago | FlagNo worries over 70 percent of the population
suffered from Bush Derangemen t Syndrome. No other President in public polling history has been able to reduce people to a sputtering rage other than perhaps Nixon.
The term indicates a belief that some extreme critisisms
of the President are of emotional origins rather than based on facts or logic. Have you read ANY of JohnKJR's post? Now his posts are purely factual without any emotional charge. (note sarcasim)
jstol3, 4 months ago | FlagWell, I'm not JohnKJr but I do consider myself a Conservati
ve. I did reply about MJ and said that I think we should legalize and tax it but I'm not a fanatic about it. If you want medical MJ its ok by me. I'm upset regarding your statement about cap & trade because I am not aware that this will be used to offset anyone's tax liability.
It is my understand ing that this will ADD to everyone's liability. I like Rush, Glenn, and Bill. Don't care too much for Hannity. The other 3 resonate with me. They all say things which resonate with a lot of people.
