Another Conservative Blog Post Comments

  • JohnKJR the blog killerCry

Of course this blog was around back then, Al Gore invented the internet.

Not to mention that 87+% of all Congressional members voted for the Patriot Act, and not even Obama is suggesting its repeal. Ouch!

  • Another disgruntled revenge based Bush Derangement Syndrome post from a hater who thinks he has to trick the public in order to get his rants read.

Sort of the same trickery that led some to vote for President a person who was neither qualifyed, moderate or intelligent. But he is dashing in his Harold Pener suit!

BTW: this blog was not around during the passage of the Patriot Act; hence the reason you probably didn't see the objections you wanted to see. Go figure.

  • To your post on medicinal marajuana: Let me clarify for you what I see as a big misconception many have about conservatives.let me first say that I understand that those on the right that allow their relgious convictions cloud their judgment on governmental issues are definately out there but relativelt small in number.

If you researched you will find that many "liberals" oppose legalization as well. These are the "bluedog democrats" that allow religion/morality to clou their vision as well.

On principle-true conservatives are for limited government IN ALL AREAS,including drug/morality regulations. I,myself am a Christian and my own moral OPINIONS about legalization but I cant deny, nor would I that a free American has a right to do as he sees fit as long as he is taking care of his family ON HIS OWN and isnt hurting anyone. I other words,I dont want to pay for a stoner to sit on his couch and neglect his kids, but if he is gainfully employed and taking care of his family-he can do as he pleases.THATS CONSERVATISM!Conservative government.

Liberalism,is a "liberal" use of government to achieve whatever end the powers that be see fit.Liberal doctrine,if you look to the progressive movement of the early 1900's and even the philosophy of modern liberals, you will see that they will use any tactic, any means to a desired end,to achieve their goal. What is their goal? To destroy the capitalist free enterprise system so that many are dependent on government and the government will eventually fail. They will then rebuild the government, based on the cries of a desparate people to control our lives from cradle to grave. Sounds outlandish doesnt it? I urge you to read Saul Alinsky-RULES FOR RADICALS,a favorite of Obamas and his friends like William Ayers, the founder of ACORN....the list goes on.

I offer this because you seem to have a predetermined aversion to conservatism,I see this often, but its often based in liberal lies.Dont take my word for it-Ive given you some clues....search for the truth YOURSELF and see where you arive. You may well have lagalized pot under a liberal government, but at what cost to your other freedoms? You could have lagalized pot under a conservative government while you keep ALL your freedoms.

  • I ultimately support the Patriot act but I have blogged on here several times that I can see its constitutional issues.

You ask us the list the ways the energy bill will affect our lives? Ill be glad to but I ask you to show me where the patriot act has affected yours beyond long security lines at the airport?

The Cap and trade bill will raise energy Cost for EVERYONE! No one is even debating that, iys just HOW MUCH is at question.I will also further discourage American small bussiness and large bussiness. They will go overseas to much friendlier tax/regulation enviroments as they have been doing for years know while libs insist its just greed instead of looking at the reality of how restrictive our policies are to growing an economy. So,there you have it-Higher energy cost for everyone INCLUDING PEOPLE MAKING UNDER $250,000 a YEAR.Loss of jobs and bussinesses that generate tax revenue that will affect us all as well.

Ill be waiting to hear how the patriot act has adversly affected average Americans?

I dont condone EITHER party passing legislation that isnt presented properly and especially that they HAVENT READ. Im conservative but I often rail against BOTH parties and the political elite in this country that play these silly games with our lives. We need to take the power away from the Federal Government and give it back to States-that would go far in eliminating this kind of stuff.

  • Did I read this right? We're comparing the US Patriot Act passage to energy and medical marijuana legislation?

If I did read it correctly, oil & vinegar is my response.

I am indifferent to your marijuana cause, but if you would like to discuss the energy legislation I think I am well versed to discuss.

  • I did read the other blog about non-representation. I would prefer to see it just be legalized and taxed. The Missouri Legislature is not in session right now. I usually have frequent contact with Sen. Justus when they are in session. I have found her to be very good to work with.

She is right that the Speaker does't answer to her. She can put forth legislation and she can attempt to prevail upon him to do things but, ultimately, he does not answer to her.

I might also add that knocking someone else's cause is not a very productive way of rallying someone to your own.

  • You assume that some of follow party lines blindly. How would you know?

Recently the house voted on the energy bill (I don't like the bill). I'm not a Republican but there were 8 Republicans who voted for the bill. I sent all 8 a faxed letter castigating them for voting for it. Did you communicate your displeasure to the Democrats who voted for the Patriot Act? How about the ones who voted to go to war in Iraq?

I have said on another blog here that those people on talk radio and Fox TV don't tell me what to do - sometimes they do and say what I and others in their audience demand they do. I listen and watch because their message resonates with me and with many other Americans. Their thoughts on issues are very similar to many of my own thoughts.

I'm not sure if I read your other blog regarding causes. If I did and if they were causes I agreed with I may have. If I didn't agree I'm sure I didn't. I will go back and look. If you wrote that blog under the same name I'm sure I'll find it.

  • The Patriot Act you talk about came on the heels of 9/11 when no one knew what, where, or when another act of terrorism might occur. Since there has not been another terrorist attack here in the US, although several have been disrupted, I would say the Patriot Act worked whether you agree with it or not.

With regards to contacting your representatives. Whether you speak with them directly, by e-mail, or in a letter you get the same talking points as the party he or she represents. The only real benefit contacting them serves is to let them know your feelings, not listening to theirs. Most of them are so out of touch with reality that they have no idea what we are talking about anyway. The only way to get their attention is when they come up for reelection.

Why complain about legislation that hasn’t passed yet? The answer is simple, to keep it from passing, if possible. Once it passes it’s to late to complain. The energy bill and the health care will touch each and every one of us.
