The Last Set Of Pictures

The big nowstorm is winding down now as a matter of fact the Denver area is near 40 as of this writing...

The highest total I could find was 3 miles SE on Pinecliff, CO...they had 46" of snow...but it was an impressive snowstorm for sure...here's a text statement on the snowfall breakdown...

My flight ended up canceled...I got moved to the 7:15 flight that was delayed about an hour...overall though it was OK...the lady next to me was canceled 3 times so I was fortunate in that regard...

Anyway...I put together a final compilation of pictures...I added a few at the end of the show..highlighting the Booulder area a bit for you...did you know for example that the old Mork & Mindy show was set there...thank goodness for wikipedia...here's an excerpt...

In an interview with Garry Marshall on June 30, 2006, Pat O'Brien mentioned that Mork & Mindy was filmed on Paramount stage 27, the former studio for his infotainment program The Insider.

The house from the show is located at 1619 Pine Street, just a few blocks away from the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder. This was also used in the show as Mindy's actual address in Boulder, as shown in the episode "Mork Goes Public."

The same house was later used for exterior shots on the series Perfect Strangers, where the cousins Larry and Balki lived with their wives. In addition, it was used in three episodes of Family Matters as Myra's house.[4]

end text

So like the geeks we were...we stopped by and took pictures...it's in an area where there are Victorian homes...and well with the snow and all it was just beautiful!

So without further ado...take a look...about 40 pictures worth...

The big story locally the winds...they've been going pretty good for the day...gusting as strong as 35-to almost 50 MPH...all created by the same storm and while the winds will fade some this evening...there will still be 20-30 MPH gusts for awhile out there tonight.

Forecast wise...aside from some temp swings...not a lot of active weather weather as the jetstream will be doing a retreat back towards the north later next week...we're in NW flow that will make disturbances and their quick moving pockets of cooler airmasses tough to time...also some nice signs of milder air potential for a stretch in the 1st half of NOV...so things may dry out a bit for awhile...we'll see about that...

Oh...one other thing...came across these files today for you severe weather fanatics...they are rather large but concern the VORTEX2 project that was completed I haven't looked at them yet...but I hear they are pretty cool...they're essentially radar animations from the Doppler on Wheels truck that was helping out with the project...

Not much else to talk about for now...I've got another cold...2nd one this month...and so it goes...also DON'T forget that this is the last couple of days of DST...we set the clocks BACK one hour on SUN AM...and remember my pet peeve...it's daylight SAVING time...no "S" in saving.
