You have all creeped me out so much I regret having put this post up in the first place.  I like animals well enough, but some of the lengths people go to - truly seeming to believe they are part of their "family" - astonish me.  Fox4 recently had a short piece either on air or online about firefighters having to make an issue out of warning people NOT to go back into burning houses after their pet(s).  People who initially got out safely with family members have actually died going back in after animals. 

I simply saw this news piece about CPR by pet-lovers as further travel down that same road.  Now I'm watching neighbors walk their dogs with unpleasant pictures in my mind (thanks to Grunt).
