Mall Shopper Jihad Thwarted

The feds have just arrested a 20-something man in Massachusetts for a planned jihad attack that would include, among other things, gunning down random shoppers at one or more unnamed malls.  And at a time when the retail industry needs all the help it can get going into the holiday shopping season!

Seriously, it is nice to be reassured (and I hope ALL of us here concur) that regardless of who is leading the country, or who started which safety measures, that plots like these are being uncovered before they have the opportunity to actually occur.  Kudos to all involved with thwarting this latest example of religious and political fanaticism.

Nevertheless, a holy jihad on mall shoppers in America?  I sometimes feel as though I'm living in a segment from "The Twilight Zone".

  • It is encouraging to here stories like this. But I’m sure there are those wondering about and ready to question the methods used by authorities go gather the information to prevent this attack. Were wiretaps or other illegal surveillance used; some other form of invasion of privacy, or information from an informant of questionable character?


    So far our men and women responsible for our country’s security have apparently been doing an outstanding job at stopping another terrorist attack regardless of their methods. But you can bet there will be criticism of their successful methods, and out rage and condemnation at any failure to stop an attack should there be another regardless of its size.
