Love for the Lost… A month ago a puppy was dumped at my school early in the morning. As I held the droopy eared bundle of fur, I knew she was no longer lost. I noticed her adorable little face, which was excited to hear the voice of one who would help her realize she was safe in the arms of love…
That morning, each activity I had planned with my students was put on hold. Our new little visitor became our morning project. I asked my class to help me name the new puppy. One little boy suggested Luci, and was so proud when we voted on her new name which is perfect for her.
Luci is a happy dog who grows bigger every day. She is grateful to have a family of her own. She has found love in those who nurture her, and provide her with everything she needs… Maybe she is joyful because she is no longer lost. Maybe she is grateful she won’t have to wander around by herself, and try to make it on her own.
Pets are not the only ones who become lost in a world which doesn’t always seem to care about those in need. There are those who struggle, as they try to make it on their own. They hope to be rescued, and loved in the way they deserve. They feel alone, afraid, worried, and hungry for nourishment.
There is one who knows the hearts of all people who need to be held close. God knows those who struggle and hope to find their way. He lovingly tries to show us we do not have to walk alone… Though our lives will change and circumstances will take us far away from where we need to be, God never changes. He is the constant Savior who can rescue us.
If you are lost, remember God can help you. He knows where to find you, and He is waiting to nourish you with what He knows you need…I pray you will ask Him to come into your heart, and realize you don’t have to walk alone. God cares about your needs. He wants you to arrive safely in the arms of His love, so you will never be lost again.
Scripture: As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness. Ezekiel 34:12
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, We are sometimes lost in a world that consumes us with worry and fear. Help us find peace in your loving arms as you rescue us and hold us close. Help us remember we are not alone. Carry us, oh Lord and raise us high, so we can clearly see what is ahead in the place we call our lives... |
