Channel 5 twist and misrepresents facts again about police.

Once again, channel 5 has shown that they are very anti-police and will twist facts. In their latest " Investigative Reports" they want people to believe the police abused their powers again. The story is from Lee's Summit. A police officer attempts to stop a vehicle. The vehicle refused to stop until he pulls into his driveway. Dashcam video shows the officer's actions. The suspect tells Channel 5 he didn't understand why the officer pulled his weapon. First, the story will have you believe that the officer quickly pulled his weapon. But if you watch the video, no weapon is shown and the officer waits several minutes until back up arrive. But, even if he did pull his weapon, the vehicle failed to stop for more than two minutes with the officer sounding his siren. Then the suspects is later asked to hang up his phone. Did he comply? NO! he continues to defy lawfull orders. Then the suspect is handcuffed and during a search of his person, he begins to move around. This becomes enough to force the officers to take him to the ground. Now, here is where Channel 5 will have you believe the police abused this person. While on the ground the officer, who is also there defensive tactics instructor, puts his knee on the suspects neck. Channel 5 asked some professor from the University of South Carolina if this was right. He states the officer did not need to perform this tactic. But as an officer for over 10 years, This tactic is done so that the suspect can not move or attempt to fight. Although painful, it does not cause any injury. So this professor, who is only stating his opinion, says that the officer is wrong. But Channel 5 never interviews any officers from other departments so that they could give their opinion. No, they ask some liberal who's taxes may still need to be paid. Way to go Channel 5, you have shown why your a joke in the local law enforcment community.

  • By the way, I know this comes a bit late, but your earlier comment about a suspect being able to kick and scream even when handcuffed and eating dirt...Come on, man, do you even think before you speak?  If he's kicking and screaming, common sense would say don't approach from an angle at which he can kick you.  Approach towards his head and face area or at an angle towards his shoulders.

I mean, are all cops that stupid or is this just an illusion?  How dumb do you have to be to know how and where a guy is going to attack and you still approach from that direction?  If I take someone down and handcuff him and he starts kicking and screaming, I'd just get up and sidestep towards his head and shoulders.  That's really all I'd have to do to keep from being kicked.  If he's handcuffed BEFORE he starts kicking and screaming, all I'd do is just get up and move out of the way and let him lay there and wear himself out, then once he's tired and gasping for air, I'd casually move in and drag him to the car.

Not only that, but how dumb do you have to be to know a suspect is armed yet you still make yourself the most obvious thing out there instead of taking cover before you shoot back?

  • Also, in one of the video games I play, the main character actually has to face down 5 heavily-armed opponents inside a building, and he is given an advantage when his buddies contact the power company and have them temporarily cut off power to the building, which leaves it in total darkness, allowing the main character time to brutally attack all 5 bad guys and leave before they figure out what just happened.  The same tactic can be used in real life, but I have never seen it used, so I do not know how effective it would be nor how useful the SWAT would find it.

  • I prefer hand-to-hand combat over any other kind of fighting, but I am ruthless and brutal enough that I prefer breaking every bone in my opponent's body at least twice before I kill him.

  • I learned years ago how to use my environment to my advantage in combat, even during broad daylight.  I learned how to use the local ambient noise level to mask any noises I make (including gunfire - timing gunshots with the thunder is a great way for police snipers to take on multiple opponents), I learned how to use the local infrastructure in ways most people tend to ignore (from plumbing to electrical work, from eaves and gutters to security fencing.  Its invisible to the average person, but if you want to remain undetected, you need to learn to see the things everyone else ignores), I learned all the ways to "scope a place out" without anyone knowing about it, and I learned how to be so in tune with your environment you never miss anything in your environment that is not supposed to be there.
